Popcat, you cannot listen to the podcast, Harris, the winner, Mr. James Wilson. Welcome to the Popcast, with Michelle Riley, Mike Cross, and Brendan O'Neil. Sit down and enjoy your point.
There's a company left to go with the ball to hurt, and I was like, can I shoot and do ball to break the bracket? Yeah, finally after we launched some nice, the Popcast is back with me and Mike and Chris Ruffalo. This episode is sort of a free-form podcast. We'll be talking about all sorts of random stuff.
I sort of go through my list of ideas that I keep every now and then. We haven't had a podcast to do in so long that they built up, and some of these ideas are good. Some of them are not so good. Some of them are fresh.
Some of them, I don't remember what my point was and what you found, but either way, this episode we do run through a bunch of different topics, lots of non-separators, lots of just random thoughts throughout, so if you're not paying attention, you may get lost, because there's almost no transition from one topic to another topic. But as usual, we do end the episode with another edition of the game that's sweeping nation, the How Much Are The Wolf game, and as usual, well, I don't spoil it, but a certain person who always loses is definitely lost again this time. Stick around for that at the end. Hopefully we keep this going and record once a week or as often as possible and start publishing this more often, because these are fun to do and I wanna do more of them.
So hopefully we'll do some more, have some more laughs, create some new segments, and do some fun stuff on here. So without further ado, the return of the podcast. All right, Ross, I can score the poller up. Looking all the fuck up, I like it.
45 in two days, halfway to 90. I'm, uh, here you go. I'm too close to 50, and I will tell you this. I think I got about 10 years, maybe.
10, good. Maybe 12. No, you're gonna get past 70, sadly. Well, I'm hoping to, but I don't know that I've got it.
I don't know if I've got that shot in my bag. No way. I think I do, which is really unfortunate. The odds are being clear, 90 are way better than I would like them to be.
Well, here's the deal. I explained this to a lot of people, and O'Neill will love this. Oh, good. You know, like you say, look at a little, the cute little man, the cute little old lady, because all the big ones are that.
Truth, that's so true. I ain't that big. You're what the fuck are you talking about? Oh, man.
You was, uh, what are you on, is all like, six four? No, I'm a shade under six three. Six two, or Jane. You've been shrinking.
I can't tell you last time I saw a guy over six three that's like seven year above. Oh, I see him all the time. I've got my eye on him. Bill Russell, I'm sorry, there's one.
Bill Russell. But the great, well, Chamberlain didn't make it very far. He sure did. That was because he was knocking back so much pussy.
He was laying down too often. He was slailing it. Well, legend. He was a legend.
God bless him. Yeah, I mean, if you're gonna go, he's gonna go out that way. You might have missed a lot of free throws, but that's about all he missed. Yeah, he didn't miss anything in that paint.
Oh, he had to hit. He had a ball. Oh, it's like a automatic weapon. We had a segment on legendary, uh, legendary Coxman of the world.
We probably, we all know we need to throw a deep saw. Oh my God. Five Coxman all the time. Top five Coxman.
Which is definitely what? He's number one. Oh, no, no, sure. But I'm straight volume here.
I'm gonna say cheater is number one. No, no, no, no, different category. Yeah, that's possible. We need to do categories because they're the super underrated one that you would never think of that there are major stories about.
Danny DeVito. No, no. Burgess Meredith. What?
Burgess Meredith. I've heard all kinds of stories about he was the ladies man and he would mow him down. Taxman extraordinaire? You know, he used to get Maxwell's tail.
By the way, I hope this is recording. But Maxwell's tail was Mickey Rudy. Mickey Rudy, the hammer pound, right? Earl Flynn.
I mean, these guys in like Flynn is named out as after Earl Flynn because they said he was you're saying a big pack. Well, he went in every crevice that was open. He wasn't too disordered. You didn't discriminate?
He did not. Didn't matter if there was a twig in berries or just a little man in a boat. He was in there. He was pushing.
So it's legendary cosmon. But what kind of categories are we talking about, Emil? Well, I think, I think forts is a separate category. Yeah, I mean, I mean, like Jeter and Chamberlain, really.
You got to go like, you know, obvious, like, oh, yeah, of course that guy or the underrated Burgess Meredith, Mickey Rooney type. Yeah, you got to. Plus you have to roll out present day after these because they just beg a horse. That doesn't count.
It doesn't mean like long. I need stability and long range. Yeah, it was like they were catching people in a trap back then. Now it's just like to efficient.
I mean, James Harden is getting laid then fuck. That beer is a little bit too much for Mike's taste. So secrets and I have to have some stuff done there. Rob, why, why we're on this subject.
Rob. Tony, you got to be on video. Holy shit. I don't need to be on video.
You're missing the good shit. I want this thing to work, man. It's working. You already had one that went down the shitter.
Did you upgrade your internet already? Yeah, I mean, shortly after that one bad call, I did it right then. And it's been good for that. You had enough for that.
It's been a long time. So, Rob, did you hear about the Dallas Mavericks story? No. OK.
So we got to go across. You'll appreciate this, too. Is it? Are we recording?
Always recording. As soon as the call starts, it's recorded. Good. Is there already some good material here?
Yeah. I'm not going to miss this. All right. Let's get into the Dallas Mavericks story.
Let's hear it. Let me guess. Will I bang and tell you back? I'll sit again or no?
That would be fantastic. We're back. There's this guy whose name was Chris Hyde. He was a senior executive with the team.
He'd worked there for, I don't know, 15 years or 20 years or something. And shortly after he started working there, he began to show his co-workers porn on his computer and pictures he's taken of women that he was banging in lingerie or topless or naked or whatever. And all kinds of porn on his computer all the time to the point where he would be rubbing himself below his belt line is the report. And it happened so often, he picked up the nickname pants DJ.
And then he was DJing, scratching and spinning on his own pants during the work day. DJ in his own garbage? Is that what you're trying to say? Yeah.
Right. But Mark Cuban didn't know about this, right? Oh, like Cuban's organization. Yeah.
Cuban's organization is a shit show, man. Well, I mean, he's a guy who was winging it at broadcast.com. He really, I mean, he's a smart businessman, but he certainly didn't have the traditional business upbringing where he worked his way through the ranks and caught lightning in a bottle. He was 19 years old and he had a domain name that everybody wanted.
Yeah, in other words, he never got written opera. He never got the brochure. We all got the brochure. He never got the doctor and invited HR flunkies.
He was like, they're going to kneel dead at his latest venture. Who wants to name the name? They call me Pants MC instead of Pants DJ. Yeah, you'll pay.
Wait, can I get a big head in the pants? Can I have Pants MC? What? Shouldn't I do pants on?
Yeah, you should, actually. I have a choice. You can get a pants. Pants be out.
MC Pants TP. Yeah. Good Lord. Shit.
Well, I mean, there's a lot of crazy stuff. What about our buddy on Twitter from what team was that? I know you guys are the NBA guys. Oh, Langelos.
Langelos. Amazing story. A crazy story that was. Crazy.
And like, where's white? His wife was involved. Did you hear that? Was she pumping out data to watch whether?
Like on her account? Yeah, she was controlling one of those handles. What is wrong with these people? Are they that dumb that they don't think they have a digital footprint?
First of all, it's a meeting to me that people in the NBA are surprised by this. I think almost every team does this. And they're probably right in many sports, but especially the NBA. Just probably not the president of the team.
No. No. Well, yeah, that's the difference, Peter. So what talks do we have in the NBA?
Tell me about Toronto, Ross. What was your favorite part about your little trip there? Toronto was interesting. So a couple of unique points about it.
Wanda had a place called Casa Loma, which is a castle on the north of, you know, a few miles north of downtown Toronto. And the symphony was pointing. We had a group of people there. So it was very interesting having me at the symphony.
I mean, I like the symphony, but I'm not like, typically one to go. And I was extremely underdressed. So it was the white beater and short-shered. Oh, the white beater.
Come on. Do I look like Ross? I'm like, I'm here. And I'm from here.
I don't know why the white beater for the record. You do not own one? Not even two. Do not.
I'm way too greasy. I'm way too greasy to wear white beater. So very interesting. Then night two had me on Toronto Island, which is like, I'm the complete opposite.
So it's not a highland. That's got to be a strip club, right? Toronto Island? Yeah.
It should be. It should actually have a strip club on the island. But Toronto, actually, one of the strip club capitals of the world. Yes, it is.
And not quite the Montreal caliber, but pretty, you know, there's international flavor up there. That's pretty unique. It's a cool city. Did you have a drink?
I did. I think whenever the world ends, we will mark it from the day we knew who Drake was. Like that? That's a good point.
O'Neill, where do you stand on a Drake push at T? Goss up. I don't know who that second person is you said. So I have no fucking idea.
Neither do I. Let me give you the short story, because it's pretty entertaining. This is one of your typical East Coast west coast kind of rap battles. Except for the Bolson Burban douchebags.
Yeah, the Bolson Burban douchebags. I don't know where push at T is from. And I don't know where push at T is from. But he apparently outed Drake in his latest song that Drake has like a bastard kid somewhere and like second family kind of thing that keeps completely under wraps.
Shocking. I think more. There's shots fired, man. So shots fired.
It's like Vernon Hills versus Foodage. Payless versus Neighborville. So yeah, so I don't know where that battle stands right now. I haven't been keeping off, but I should probably check it out.
How do you even update? Oh my god. I love it. Yeah, I avoid all that horseshit.
I mean, you guys see me online. I barely even know who. You didn't know who that is. Who?
Fat dad. I know I just came up on that just now. Fat dad is like four years old. Five years old.
I mean, guys, great. I think he's hilarious. Far as I'm concerned, the funniest thing I've ever seen. And I'm only three years late.
So pretty good. No, all right. I mean, I'm not going to be crying. We're crying.
So at least you showed off the pretty. Ruff and I were kicking this one thing around a week ago or so. And I'm sure we have more to add to it. But we want to get your thoughts on this for us, for sure.
Forget about like the Hall of Fame for the best players. We were talking about who would be in the goodest players ever, Hall of Fame. Like not the best players, but the really good players, the underrated guy who was definitely not a Hall of Famer, but was super great for that team or that you'd like so much, whatever. Are you calibrating this with one particular sport?
No, we jump around. I mean, yeah, that's a great topic. I love it. And one of the awesome sort of shoe-in-one we were talking about was Jeff Garcia.
Yes. Best player. Guy who's always great was never called great. Jeff Garcia.
Yeah. Yeah. And thinking back on him, he really was a solid player. He was kind of caught in a bad place with that team when he was in San Francisco.
It was just kind of like they weren't ready for him yet. But he was not what's up, Billy. How good he was? Yeah.
He was great. They didn't want to cleave in 110 games. I think. I was thinking somebody like, you know, I know you're going to get rough in an eye roll because it's all sex shit.
But like a guy like Mark Early. No, he's awesome. Mark Early is a great player. I was just looking him up the other day and I was shocked at how few wins he has.
I thought he would have over 200 wins by now. Well, by now, he's done. So there's no more he can get. I thought for sure he was a guy who could get to 300.
Like it was weird. He just fizzled out. But I think part of the problem with him was he played on such shitty teams for a long time. And then he just kind of like checked out.
So he's got he had two hundred and fourteen wins in his career, right? But he had a perfect game, got a no-hitter, World Series. I mean, is he a Hall of Fame shoe in? I kind of like had two hundred and fourteen wins.
I don't know that I see that. No, he doesn't get hit. But he was a poor man's glabbin for sure. Without that's the best way he put it.
So glabbin is a guy who will be celebrated from now until the end of the time. Yeah. Yeah. He's probably at 300 wins.
You know, I was talking about Brother Laskip the other day. We were talking about different players. Do you know that Kenny Rogers has more wins than Pedro Martinez? I was like, the gambler?
He's got two hundred and nineteen wins. And Pedro Martinez, I think people forget that he barely even started before he got to like, yeah, Montreal. Well, here's the deal with Pedro. He was probably ten years older than he was really listed as.
Yeah, exactly. He was pitching his fifties. Yeah, like Barcelona is like sixty five. Yeah, but get that home run.
Dude, did you ever see that dude that got that part of the local entatu on his arm because he said if I told it alone, hit the home run, I'm fucking getting that dude on my arm. He did. Hold on. He's the safest bet ever.
Well, you think it didn't work out for that guy that night. If I told him cologne was an inch taller, he'd be perfectly round. Exactly. You're right.
He looks like Krusty the clone. He's like the Latin American trusty clone. What's the matter? I don't even know.
I'm from the front. I just do well with that. What topics we got tonight? I just wanted to say I'm happy to be here.
I'm happy to be here too. I'm happy that I wrapped like five drinks through. Yeah, it started early. I love it.
I love it. So I got a bunch of random stuff that has been collecting dust for a while so I can throw some stuff out and see what sticks. Let's do that. Can I throw some on the pile?
I'll be out just for later. I don't want this to be a feature, but I do like the all dough team. People that are not muscular or other athletes. The doughy athlete.
That would be me. I would be on the all dough team. What was the go-to guy? I forget.
It was Chris Paul. That's Chris Paul. Perfect. I'm not going to go.
James Harden is another one. They're dad bots. They're dad bots, guys. They're dad bots.
Yes. I'm from Bay Area at the dad bot. I might go a little Ben Roptersberger in there. Yeah, Roptersberger, good choice except for the rape thing.
The rape thing, yeah. It's not so fun to talk about him. I leave him off all this because of the rape thing. It's also what we heard about too, by the way.
Yeah, they did a good job of shopping on that one under that. It's only a touch of rape though. It's not like a full rape. It's just like a little sta- Yeah, it's a little sta- It wasn't all Weinstein.
It was more as much closer to a Louis CK than a Weinstein. I think the way that probably Rop and I look at it, that might be a little different than UBO is that we have daughters and not to discount anyone else's opinion on it, but that should go down with my family. Somebody's getting killed. Oh, exactly.
Yeah, of course. Yeah. I'm on board with that. Yeah.
Ben Roptersberger wouldn't be alive right now if that was my daughter. When you're on your way in the car and a full of baseball bats, you come by and pick me up. We'll go. Yeah.
I know for you it would be a great moment. No rage exposure. It could be just another day. Just another age.
The rage cage with the V.O. Oh, we were talking about this last week on text or whatever. Bringing up a scenario and then you tell me what percentage it would be a man or woman doing this thing. That's good.
I love that. The example I put out there was writing, I think it was writing a check in the checkout counter in front of you. Man or woman. I think it's a 60 year old plus woman.
Yeah. Yeah, and there's a 100% chance of that. 100%. Now, that's sort of being around the puddle.
I had trouble with that one. That's a man all day. That's a man. And it's a man under 35, maybe even.
Likely driving an actor of some sort. That's me. It's me. It's got to be an actor.
It can't be a Florida. It can't be a Sivan. It's got to be a coup. Yeah.
It's 35 to 45 is the sweet spot by the way on that one. So, Russell got two days left. Exactly. On Sunday, I'm driving through the pop.
Bam. You're halfway through life. It's over. I'm a hyper alert driver.
In my opinion, I'm like the best driver. I'm always aware of what's going on. I'm so angry all the time. I'm not a best driver, but I'm by far one of the fastest.
Oh, okay. I clocked myself going over 100 three, four times a week. Holy hell. Yeah.
Wow. You're an idiot. You're like a highly skilled like stunt driver. Yeah.
I go in that car. When I'm driving down 88, like if I'm taking Manny to the gym or dropping her off or picking her up with her without her in the car, I'm doing this. And I really feel like I could have been an S-star driver even though I fucking hate the sport. You know why?
Because you're always fucking late. Wait, who's on time tonight? Wait. Not only that.
Flying in from Toronto. Driving home, getting gas. I should go in and work out. And I'm still early.
You're doing a full day, man. Yeah. First meeting with that 80s turn. So 7-7 shot today.
Oh, bitch. Yes. Did you have the continental breakfast? I did not.
You know what I did? And Rob, I need to talk about this because this is my new rage. My new thing. I'm no longer going to stay at hotels when I go to cities like Toronto because I went on Marriott.com.
And the cheapest hotel for two nights was 400 a night. What? 400 US. A night in Toronto.
So I'm like, you know what? I'm going to go look at Airbnb. So I went to Airbnb. Found a nice little duplex apartment on West King Street, like a mile and a half from downtown to straight West.
Perfect. Concrete walls, like real much super modern. Little balcony. Yeah, the only bad thing about those Airbnb is there was a camera to watch you beat off.
That's all you. What do I care? What are they going to do with me? By the way, Dave Chappelle says if you go on Airbnb and you type in the name, dream on green, it immediately logs you off.
Let me tell you, those two Chappelle specials were absolutely gold. Did you guys see them? They were unreal good. And he was holy shit.
He was off the radar for way too long. He was, he was throwing it up though. He came back strong. Oh yeah.
He came out of hot. That was some of his more quality work. I was very impressed. What do you think his next move is?
Does he just stay as a stand up or does he move back in the TV or what? No, he stays. Yeah. He just surfaces every few years and just blows his way and goes back under that.
Goes back in the soul. I forget how much he got paid for those two, but I think it was north of $30 million. I think so too. Did you know the joke about him with the lady in the audience?
Was that the lady in the audience? Was that the lady in the Asian lady? Do you remember that joke? I don't even remember it.
I just don't know. She was in the audience and you know a lot of times he was smoking or something. So he asked her, you know, about herself and then asked her husband what nationality was Mexican. I know one thing for sure is that you're going to have the hardest working baby in the world.
That's a fucking great joke. She got so angry with him. Little racist. He's married to an Asian lady too.
Which makes you even better. No, I think he might be of this generation. He and Lucy are probably the two best. That would be right.
My argument would be those two. Yeah. But I'm like, let's call it two thousand on. Yeah, maybe Jim Gaffigan is in the picture, but that's it.
Sure. Yeah, definitely in the picture. And I mean, some of the legends that have been around for even longer have still done great work in that time period. But I mean, when you think about exploding onto the scene, Lucy K and, and, and, and, and him are like, they stand above everybody else.
Yeah, I think you're right. And like Chris Rock, what, I mean, where's that happen? I know. I think he's producing more, but like, I mean, that guy needs to come out.
He's not producing anything funny. So he needs to produce more. He's special was unwatchable. We turned off in 10 minutes.
Yeah. I guess our seven coming out. He's going around about Eddie Murphy, right? Where he's going into children's and really light comedies.
Martin Lawrence, Eddie Murphy, Chris Rock, they all get, get unfunny. Yeah, I mean, I don't think Eddie's done anything funny in 20 years. Well, you know, with, with Rock, something happened where he was very unfunny. And then all of a sudden he got funny.
Like he figured it out and then he went away. Yeah. It's almost like, um, bringing Anderson when he had 50 home runs that one year, you're like, wow, look at that. We all know why he did it.
Yeah. But you know, you know, it's not real. And the same happened with Chris Rock. He had this three year stretch where he batted 400 and you're like, wow, maybe he can hit.
Yeah. Look at this number. Like, like, who, who, who P and Lil Petty and all that other crap he did was terrible. He was, he was very unfunny on Saturday live too.
Yeah, he was. What do you guys, what do you guys say on Pat and I as well? Oh, I hate it. He's a fucking idiot.
Wow. Oh, whoa, whoa, whoa, we got two opposing views. I like it. No, no.
I'm like in the middle on him. So we got all ends of the spectrum going. Um, first of all, he looks like a hedgehog. He looks like a hedgehog mating with an injured turtle.
That's the first. Oh. Yeah. The second thing is his wife's pulse barely stopped beating before he engaged abroad.
And he was acting like he was still mourning his wife. That wasn't at all. I don't like that, of course. Yeah.
That's what I got. That's all my material in Pat and I as well. Yeah. I'm not the one to defend him.
So I mean, he's fine, but he's not. I'm not going to a show or anything. So whatever. Right.
So I've been trying to notice old guy moves that I'm starting to do. Oh, this is good. I like this. And I've only pinpointed one, but I know there are others I just haven't thought of yet.
So this is a work in progress. But, um, and you'll see him walking around whatever department store or grocery store or whatever. The old guy wearing the khakis or whatever he's wearing that don't fit well, of course. And he's wearing the ultra comfy white sneakers that are three sizes too big.
Oh, yeah. His heel isn't in the back of the heel. So like his pants are like tucking back inside of his shoe. Rockboard city, baby.
Yeah. Rockboard. New belt. I feel like I wear a 13 barely.
My left foot is a 13. My right probably a 12 and a half or whatever. But for some reason the shoes I have now are a 14. This pair of Adidas, whatever.
And I feel like that guy because they are these shoes are way too big and I'm shuffling around and I'm just going to throw myself in front of my face. I would say my old guy moved because I've got him to stack it up by the way. There's these type of things. One of them is everything is noisy.
Like quiet rooms are too loud for me. I think he can keep that down. No one's even talking and it's too loud. Yeah.
Oh, yeah. I like that one. It's getting old things going to start. Oh, yeah.
I'm still about the noise though. I like the noise. Oh, I can't handle it. I like quiet.
I like the way it's got like their toys on the hybrid floor. I would freak the fuck out and I mean. I don't fit down. Yeah, like Liam had this truck with big novie tires but the tires were like plastic, hard plastic.
So on the hard wood it would just reverberate like Saturday morning at seven a.m. or whatever time you were up. And so I took that truck away as he was crying and replaced it with the truck with big, soft rubber tires. We could play with it on the floor.
And I think he hated me ever since. You like the Christmas fucking Grinch? Yeah. Give me that toy.
I know you love it. I'm throwing it out. this other shitty toy I want to be back dad I was back dad's funny yeah right and it only be like it only cost cost your boys you know 15 to 20k therapy over the years at once out of the house I won't be your problem at that point right probably I'll be up back roll to the walls all right I've got something else I'm just going through my list of random horseshit here okay this one has a sound accompaniment this'll be the first for the podcast I think hang on a second really pull it up okay with this alright so you're alone in a cornfield what is a lot well just just go with me knucklehead okay what song would you least like to hear if you were alone in a cornfield I know what Rob's answer is hang on the choice I have three to choose from and you can add around the video but here's the first one oh that's that's bad man that's manning alright there's one incentive pepperance alright the other one this one's pretty good that one is death you're instantly dead with that one and then the third one I think the third one's my winner I can pull it up here how do you hang yourself on the cornstalk I don't know but last case paid her boarding I love it what's going on with hanging hanging yourself to die like I don't get that I think Rob I'm trying to figure out a way to drown myself in dirt I was gonna throw go TA somebody that I used to know because I know rock hates that song more than anything oh that's a bad song yeah fuck that song good call that's you I'm a lot of good memories around that just like a hipster douchebag was behind you if you're that song right I don't know if it's hipster I'm sure yeah that's gotta hate that fucking song I would have never even remembered until you just fucking said it not to my head it's gonna be something for your name you know what pissed me off even more across is that people remade it like oh we made the piece of shit song it's on time on the podcast this is horrible this is horrible anyway that's one of my stupid thoughts I have here yeah I think there was supposed to be a segment where you pitched something and I'm supposed to say how much I hate it oh see I didn't keep notes on that one it was different than the it was different than our segment which I think we need to revisit by the way because I don't believe Cross was on for it the segment of mundane things that make us absolutely bash it angry yeah the like the ultra pet peeves or whatever yeah but like things that are irrational they're irrational pet peeves yeah small as minor infraction that I can say right yes when people pronounce the tea and often I think they think they sound sophisticated by saying often that's so right I love that that's he is fucking silent people you know what they give that they get the same punch in the nose as either either either I'm with you I'm with you on that we could do a whole pronunciation thing that that's a whole other that's like it's all the category yes hey do you think Bobby Nash is upset that we didn't invite him to the pot tonight maybe but welcome it's a tremendous show for the crowd yeah that's kind of how I feel it's like the broadcast booth I love a good freeway unfortunately there's too much meat hang on this one just uncomfortable after that comment just 30 old man okay what's next I got a alright I'm gonna need your guys's input on this one but the concept is how old is too old to do whatever it is so I like this how old is too old to hit on a 22 year old chick at a bar okay for that I'm gonna go with 38 what I got 32 whoa 32 yeah I'm a 10 year 10 year rule okay all right I can respect that especially at the 22 the 22 age yeah like 45 and 30 might be better than 22 and 30 exactly exactly that's right so so there's a sliding scale based on where we're at the distance right yeah 45 to 30 is kind of pre-p2 like yeah I'm 90 and I'm hitting on a 60 year old I'm good right it's all good exactly so we had to carry a slide rule to figure this out or how does the math work on that I know it's not exact it's not it's like creating a curve this is tricky I don't I mean I'm uncomfortable with this like if she's very roller skates that's all that off what about what if it's what's her name from my oh god I was talking about her yesterday I can't remember her name Heather from my other great other girl oh how dare you get her name what if she's on roller skates and I'm 20 years old that's all good oh that's what I get on that was one of the all-time legendary performances in film yeah oh I bet is I know people will laugh at me about this but that is one of my top five favorite films of all time it's a great film it really is I think people thought it was like some kind of kitschy kind of like but the reality is it was a really good expose they have the corn scene in the 70s and it's very well done I mean it burnt around gives a smashing performance all right okay now you have to back up your claim name your top five and if boogie nice isn't your top five okay so boogie nice isn't my top five so I good well hunting Casablanca or my top two wow good little hunting is a great movie by the way sure the English patient is a great time no I'm not gonna say the notebook don't worry about her up you basically just did yeah no no you patient has a better story then there's an actual story to it you're suspect already you're all right yeah what are you guys gonna call my man card let's see what else so that's three and then the horror whisper I would like to submit the Christmas got Thomas story oh my god three I come on sure but you can't put one of our movies in your top five oh yeah so I've got four it was pretty nice and I'm gonna have to go with smoking in the bandit I love those got by the shooting but I will and exit in my three but I will go with good fellas over all because personal connection to the story well you can't leave that there son let's just say that scene at the end where they're getting buried in the shallow grave in Indiana I knew people on both sides of that on the federal side of it the federal authority side of it who found the bodies and maybe the people who are involved in the reason about these were there so I always thought that there's no bitch so there's that the good fellas be my round out in my top I and you know what I've always said that because not everyone but I've heard many arguments that casino is better than good fellas no it's not even close I don't even see like it's so ridiculous I mean Jesus Christ it's like saying at least Kate is honored the magazine for give me a break right what's their whole the Henry Hill day when he started making the sauce and he's driving around he's trying to solve the silencers and you know he's delivering some co-op he's doing that and doing that and you know trying to get somebody to the airport getting his brother cutting around that's one of my favorite scenes of all time really rough I'm just gonna let him say Gumad and let him get away with that I'm going to because it's ridiculous I just let it go sometimes you gotta let it go he's just flexing right there you got a little flex I'll get it I'm gonna get it that's the dad wears the sleevelish shirt to outback right there I know no no no no no no no no no no you'll never see me in an outback number two you'll never see me in a sleevelish shirt you know I mean like you know just verbally verbally it was the sleevelish shirt in the outback I know you never do that I'll accept it verbally but I like you do not own any shirts without sleeves well I do I do I we just never wear them like anywhere else but like working out I didn't wear to work out beach no beach punching out hobo's on the beach yeah if I'm going for a walk outside this night degrees or if I'm on the beach I'm wearing a sleevelish like a deed a shirt to the ones around we're like farmers dad that's the only reason That is a good point and I do have a weird sign right now. So yeah, me too I've got my list.
I think I've got my list. Okay. Let's hear. I'm gonna make them up as a long I'm gonna go in there.
I'm five. Yeah Definitely got a guy probably one for sure ranks I've got I've got million dollar baby in my top five. Oh great. Yeah, that was fucking killer.
Yeah, great movie I've got the sixth sense in there I'm like Shyamalan's only good movie only one only one. Um, Shyamalan a ding-dong Yes, it's so goddamn slow though. I mean, I didn't I use the punch though. It knocked you out.
Yeah, um, I've got lost in translation You might talk about it see That movie maybe not now but like a couple months ago. It was on heavy rotation on whatever stupid channels watching I've seen it a lot lately and the more I see it the more I like it. I don't know what it is. It's really good It's just really well done.
It's a good story with great acting. It is really good acting and it's like cool Let's see a Japan Tokyo and like the music the whole thing was good Um, yeah, that was a good one and I'm trying to think without you given the usual, you know, yes The usual ones like there's something else I'm sure I'm missing so I'm trying to make sure oh, I know Just another classic to me reservoir dogs. Yes, that one gets over a lot. It does it's still by far to me the best one Clamps to the left of me jokers to the right.
He's right when he cuts it. I see you're off. It's one of my favorites amazing scene. Yes I'm sure I can be talking to others, but that's fine mine are easy I've said them on this this podcast before I think and they haven't changed I don't think in the last 10 years or eight years or whatever and I know one of them will well one or two of them Well, it was at fights probably but I got by the one yeah, of course of course got by their two This is where rough will get mad because I think it's better than got by the one no I think it's good movie.
It's very good movie. Yeah, I like different. I like a different story I like splitting the story back and forth like that's yeah, I can see that I can see that it's good Those two are in there. I throw in good fellas cuz I mean come on.
Yeah, yeah Can't I do it there's three my wild card that but it's always in there somewhere and this is where the fighting starts Is a big little basket? Yeah, I know I know I didn't say that I think I just don't get it. Yeah I don't think it's bad. I think it's like the Smiths to me.
Yeah, I just didn't get it I totally understand you're not liking it, but it's I laugh so hard that stupid movie Yeah, I think I gotta watch it. I think I got to watch it again And then number five I think I have a tie so I'll go like a two for our number five. It could be interchangeable Casino Royale the James Bond one with a Daniel Craig because I'm James Bond fan and that's my movie And then hunt the hunt for about October. I like that more than I should Poland and show country.
Yep. That's a movie six in my top five and they're pretty easy standard ones, but the Let's experiment to the top 10 Oh You can't be your top five if you can't regurgitate it again. I did look I've had a long fucking day on the This fucking list sorry guys. I like it good self Jesus it's really we're not in person I'm gonna get a pen so don't forget some of these yeah, that's my problem So I'm trying to think back so boogie nights good solid salsa mica, which all win I Oh, we're forgetting one two cross we'll forget one.
It's gonna make my top 10. So we'll agree Okay, so let's keep going. So those are my top five I mean since I didn't have it in there. I'd have to put Godfather and I well I'm with you.
I like Godfather to I For some reason I have an affinity for Godfather Tell us yeah, this is this is tough. I know when you go outside the top five it can be anything you can go any options The drama Well, I know but I mean let's let's broaden our eyes a little bit What about what about in the comedy sector right like we're gonna go to the category right? We're just blazing saddles fit in here, but it's my top 10. I mean I gotta have that in there I mean I'll rest fine this moment I can move it up and stick it in Movie who the fuck needs Luke?
Wait a minute I know guys with you today How about the natural yes no no No field of dreams no, yes, sorry absolutely not why I'm natural all day You know I've watched the natural I think no no fewer than 75 times and I've never watched it straight through once Yeah, me too. Exactly. It's one of those movies where I can't watch it. I don't know if it's a oh wait a minute What about Robert retro movies?
Oh sneakers? Oh? You get your drunk. Yeah, what are you talking about?

Yeah, he's like new thing How about you in this list? Oh man to defrausting great movie though. Yeah, it is a great movie very well done I don't know if I put it in my top time. I think I saw one that's like or here's another topic that we can get to At some point o' kneel is like go for it movies that you thought were excellent or well done that you're only gonna watch once in your life That would be shinless list for me.
Oh, yeah Or what was the movie about D. Day with Tom Hanks? Oh, yeah, absolutely saving private right one time one one and done one and done when the guy is stabbing the guy is telling him to be quiet When he's killing him. I'm like, I can't I can't fucking take this because this is real this happened What about like most watchable or rewatchable movie like I mean that there's a lot of shake the number one I'm sure I think that you got to be my top 10 by the way, and that's totally rewatchable But most of them are gonna be comedy's mean think about it.
Do you ever turn off animal house when it's on? Step Brothers Amazing movie separately one that gets funnier every time you watch it any Adam Sandler movie No, but not any but most I don't know see he's lost me. He lost me a long time ago. We're on Mr.
D's. I was gone That that guy is worth so much money for sure. He's gotta be approaching a failure because he is no He's not gonna be he was our game. He wasn't asked do it, but he's got a lot of money.
You're right You gotta be over he's gotta be close to 500 done. He wasn't How is that possible? I mean his movies while they're fucking soft work and beyond stupid they gross like $750 million worldwide. Yeah, every single you know how it works with all the how much they pay for promotion and marketing I don't know how I know but I mean like he's he's getting producer crowded.
He's getting you know He's having on that train. Yeah, not like just getting paid Back in it getting back up, but they all those studios all cook the box. Yeah He's bad. He got really bad somewhere around Mr.
D's that was a cut off. Yeah, that might be the cut line for me too I haven't seen I probably haven't seen anything since I don't watch TV anymore and I don't watch movie Yeah, I just watch short take and just bid on businesses in my mind. It's all I do don't want attention to Cuban humans a fucking idiot Why don't you go on shark tank as one of the sharks? I would love to be on there if I had some money More money than be oh and I put together It's still enough to be a shark tank.
That's right. That's right. All right. So I got a couple more to throw on there I agree.
I found a two by the way that should be in the top 10 for sure. How about old brother? Where are you seeing that? You love that movie.
That's hilarious movie good. It's good, but you have to you have to I think part of it is You have to have an appreciation of the you know the ties to you know to the the whole Bring it back to the Shakespearean level right in the honesty to Homer yeah, not not Shakespeare You know what I don't even know the story. I just like the hillbilly issue this of cool tea in that movie Yeah, he's under underutilized put down by that So great. Yeah, hey seed hillbilly there right there.
Oh, hey no cross uses a C2. Yeah, you say see that's a great one A couple others no tunnel animals. Have you guys seen that? Oh, man, you got to see that how about a fish called Wanda?
I can watch that movie over and over I wanted to bang Jamie Lickard is so bad when I was that age whenever they came up It was probably 30 years ago. So you were yeah, you're probably in your teens mid teens No when she was in trading trading places. Oh, he's even better. You're right.
Yeah. Oh, yeah Who's a who's a had a grand counterpart from boogie nice the red hat Julianne war? Oh, yeah sneaky hot Sneaky hot definitely Something wrong there, but sneaky hot nonetheless Definitely. How about revolutionary road?
You guys see that? Yes, great. We make sure you want to kill yourself Yeah, yeah It's not that's not feel good. All right.
Let's move on as I choke on the own flam So I've got one that is related to what we're just talking about and this one can we can come back to this in a different podcast, but I've got an over under on future Oscar wins for various actors. Oh, this will be good I get a beer. Go ahead and this is just me. These are my guesses This isn't like based on anything really but we can do this for so many different actors and actresses But I got a few over under for Holly Hunter 0.5 fuck Holly Hunter.
She's like you are you doing this on purpose? No, honey hunter, you know Person in Richard drive us Michelle knows this and Michelle can verify this Michelle be listening Please send you. Oh no, I hate those two Richard drive to smelly hunter are two actors that I cannot even fucking look at this I like So great and I agree 100% what you just said I almost threw a beer bottle through the screen during mister for Hollins Opus Oh my god Movie Sports one about the player that you hate uncontrollably for no apparent reason Richard drive us is knowing his box. Yeah, but what what I mean, I mean one good movie Joss See I like the way you're thinking here you are irrational hatred guy for for a I like it.
I like it. Yeah, I'll sort of update Judy Dench. Oh What's we deal with her like what the fuck do you care about her? Why must we deal with her Why she fucking day, why did she do she's gonna play big deal?
On the podcast Over under Oscars for Robert Downey Jr. In the future. What's your what's your where you sign it 0.5 does he get one? Take the over Yeah Okay over under for Amy Adams 1.5 under I think that's about right.
I hear that over under for Kate Blanchett 1.5 over just because she's playing herself You know, she's playing that yeah, she can't have her things. She does but she is hot. We agree on that Yeah, and she does those movies that people pay attention to Thing here's here's a thing you had to pick in this category when you're when you're starting to throw out names If you're gonna throw out a name of a big actor who plays in movies or you know those films that are more like money draws Those aren't gonna be winners. No, but I mean all the names except for Holly Hunter that I mentioned are relatively big names How many hundred though can we let's hit the pause but not Holly hundreds.
I'd like to talk about this do it How did she become famous like how in the fuck did someone say oh, yeah? No this this woman needs to be on film We need to write parts for her like What happened the last time she should have gotten apart was raising Arizona because that she's playing her fucking self, right? Yeah, I will give her credit on raising her so that's one of my favorite movies Yeah, she wasn't acting it's like the dolly story. Yeah, you're right Story the holly on her story.
Oh, I trash started Holly Hunter. Oh, okay She was born in Georgia is that Nicholas cages best movie ever no Leaving Las Vegas or whatever leaving Las Vegas matter. No, honeymoon in Vegas. That's my man.
