Public Affairs: Darrell Bourque of Narrative4

Originally aired on July 1st 2019. Anne interviews two-time Louisiana Poet Laureate and LEH Humanitarian of the Year, Darrell Bourque to discuss @narrative4, a storytelling exchange non-profit he helped found. The exchange features a unique format in which participants partner up and tell each other a story that is profoundly important to them as a human being. Then they switch. One tells the others’ story to the group, in first-person, as they heard it. As you hear your story as it’s reflected in a first-person account by someone else, an identity-merging effect is produced. The process also enables you to enter someone else's narrative, making it impossible to feel alien or Other.
