Public Land - Texas - Kyle Clark

from The Big Honker Podcast Hosted by Andy Shaver & Jeff Stanfield

This series highlights the highs and lows of hunting public land across different regions of America — the early mornings, the pressure, the competition, and the grind that comes with earning every bird. In this episode, Jeff Stanfield and Andy Shaver are joined by Kyle Clark from the great state of Texas to talk about duck hunting around the DFW area and what it takes to find success in one of the most heavily pressured areas in the state. Kyle shares what hunting is like around Dallas-Fort Worth, including the extremely early mornings required to beat the crowds and secure a quality hunting spot. They discuss the competition for public and pressured hunting areas and the lengths hunters will go to in order to get on the birds. The conversation also turns to some of Kyle’s best hunts from the previous waterfowl season, along with the memorable moments and birds that stood out the most. Kyle also tells the story of the oddest duck he’s ever taken in East Texas, making for one of the more unusual waterfowl stories you’ll hear. This series is brought to you by the great people at Chêne Gear.
