On today’s show, host Dana Pellebon is in conversation with scholar Atinuke Adediran about her new book, Disclosureland: How Corporate Words Constrain Racial Progress. Professor Adediran studies the impact of corporations on social life, specifically how corporations apply the language of DEI. We saw a flurry of public statements from corporations following the murder of George Floyd in 2020. At that time, companies also pledged billions of dollars to Black causes.
