Pumpkinhead (1988)

This week on the Everything Actioncast, Zach and Chris kick off the spooky season with the 80s cult classic Pumpkinhead. Special effects legend Stan Winston makes his directorial debut, and Lance Henriksen stars as Ed Harley, a widowed father who runs a small country store with his son, Billy (Matthew Hurley). When a bunch of teenage(?) campers arrive at the store on their way to a remote cabin, Billy is mortally wounded when brothers Joel (John D'Aquino) and Chris (Jeff East) decide to ride dirt bikes nearby, and Billy is struck by Joel's bike. Looking for revenge, Ed goes to a local witch, Haggis (Florence Schauffler), who conjures the demonic Pumpkinhead to kill those responsible. Zach and Chris talk about the wide range of environments in this small area, if Billy's accident would have actually been that bad, Pumpkinhead's growing increasingly more devious as the movie goes on, Joel fleeing and literally kidnapping people and more. You can watch Pumpkinhead on Prime Video, AMC+, and Philo. Next week, with the new game, Hellraiser: Revival out and massive mazes at both Halloween Horror Nights, we're revisiting 1992's Hellraiser III: Hell on Earth.
