Pure
from North Anderson Baptist Church · host Kyle Caudell
Every human heart longs to see God—to know that He is real, that He is near, and that He is at work in our lives. Yet Jesus gives us a surprising answer to the question of who experiences that blessing: “Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.” In a world that often measures purity by outward appearance, religious performance, or moral achievement, Jesus points beyond what others can see to the condition of the heart. And this promise is both more profound and more gracious than we might initially realize. We cannot make ourselves pure enough to stand before a holy God; our hope is found in the cleansing righteousness of Jesus Christ. But those who have been made clean by Christ are then called to pursue a life of increasing holiness through God’s Word, the work of the Holy Spirit, the encouragement of His people, and a daily commitment to follow Jesus. The promise is extraordinary: those who belong to Christ will one day see Him face-to-face, but even now, as we pursue purity of heart, we can experience the reality of His presence and the joy of knowing Him more deeply. The question before us is not whether God is still at work, but whether we desire Him enough to seek Him with all our hearts.
