Purnima Hernandez on Dentistry, Neurophysiology, & ABA

In this episode, Dr. Purnima Hernandez discusses her journey into behavior analysis. She shares how she practiced Pediatric Dentistry before starting her own family. After becoming a mother, it was through her son and his needs that behavior analysis entered her life. After returning to work full-time Hernandez began blending the principles and procedures of behavior analysis into her work with her pediatric patients. She discusses the integration of operant and respondent paradigms and how they come into play in a dentist’s chair. Hernandez also shares her passion for learning and how her focus is shifting to health, nutrition, and neuroscience.
