It’s true, as the scriptures say, that some situations can only be addressed by us through prayer and fasting. Nevertheless, prayer usually requires us to put relentless and consistent efforts into its pursuit. Sometimes, we are miserable and or the situations we face are miserable. Yet, we haven’t taken the time to figure out why things are miserable, what we can do, or what can be done by us collectively. We need to ask these questions. We have to search for answers. Sometimes the answers are not in the places or with the people we expect to find them. We have to be open to seeing new possibilities, and learning new ideas and skills. The resources we need are often already present. We simply have to discover and uncover them. Then we have to knock on the doors. Sometimes it’s not the person we expect to open it. Sometimes it’s not the door we thought we wanted. Seldom does the door open as quickly as we want it to. We have to keep knocking until it does. I’m Horace McMillon. This is 60 Seconds of Hope.
