Put It on the Shelf: Trusting God’s Timing with Life’s Big Dreams

from Go When God Calls · host Angie Wheeler Sibia

In this episode of Go When God Calls, I reflect on a recent interview with Ryan Reger on his podcast, Unleashed. I share my thoughts on "putting things on the shelf," which is about hearing from God but not rushing to make things happen on our own timeline. This approach shaped my journey as a missionary, from receiving prophetic words about serving African children to trusting God’s perfect timing for everything to unfold. I’ve learned that holding on too tightly to dreams can lead to frustration but surrendering them to God brings peace and fulfillment. I also talk about times when I felt discouraged or tried to force things ahead of God’s timing. By looking to scriptures like Isaiah 55:8-9, Psalm 27:14, Proverbs 3:5-6, and Hebrews 11:1, I hope to encourage you to trust God’s perfect plan, even when it seems delayed. As Neal A. Maxwell said, “Faith in God includes faith in His timing.” My prayer is that you find hope in God’s faithfulness and continue waiting with patience, knowing His plan is always best. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Scriptures: Isaiah 55:8-9 (NIV) “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the Lord. “As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.” Psalm 27:14 (NIV) “Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.” Proverbs 3:5-6 (NIV) “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.” Hebrews 11:1 (NIV) “Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.” --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Email: [email protected]    Social Media:  Angie Wheeler Sibia TikTok: www.tiktok.com/@angiemoz Instagram: www.instagram.com/angiewheelersibia YouTube: www.youtube.com/@AngieSibia Facebook: www.facebook.com/AngieWheelerSibia
