M'S GEMS focused on the many roles of the fathers. Father's Day reminds me of the many coaches, mentors and teachers that I have had throughout my life and this week we will talk about what makes for an amazing teacher. Like the recently departed and beloved coach John Wooden says ""It's the little details that are vital. Little things make big things happen." Coaches, teachers and mentors teach you how to play a game and relate with your teammates. Joining us this week is coach and attorney Joe Maniscalco to discuss the invaluable life skills we learn via sports. ABOUT OUR SPECIAL GUEST: Joining us is Joe Maniscalco, the proud father of 4 girls who somehow has them all into softball. Being a baseball fanatic all his life, Joe had a distinguished career and received a full baseball scholarship at Fordham University. After he graduated he owned and ran a Pitching Clinic and when his daughter came of age, he started to coach t-ball and then girls fastpitch and has been immersed in girls fastpitch ever since. He currently coaches 7th/8th grade girls and 5th grade girls. Joe is also an attorney specializing in Bankruptcy and Commercial Transactions and knows all to well how to negotiate on and off the field. Joe’s coaching philosophy is “Are we better today than we were yesterday?”
