Put On Christ

Once saved, you’re given the armor to protect us from the evil one. Just as a child, we must help them to get dressed. God does the same for us at times, He helps us get ready for the battle.    Romans 13:14, Galatians 3:27 You received everything you ever needed to stand for Christ, He gives them.   Christ – Protection – Truth Clothed upon truth.   Breastplate – Righteousness It protects the vital organs, the heart, lungs, etc. Our body parts do what they do because they were divinely orchestrated. We don’t even know how they work. 2 Corinthians 5:21, The devil can’t get to your soul because he can’t get through the righteousness.   Feet – Gospel of Peace If the feet are not prepared for the battle then they can’t fight. The feet once protected can go anywhere. The world is full of rock, gravel, thorns, and thistles. Be prepared by the Gospel. As long as your feet are uncovered you will not be ready for the battle.   Shield – Faith The devil has many that do his evil work. A shield is something you must typically hold. The shield is movable and can be placed anywhere. Many days our faith waivers. It’s sometimes up and at other times down. Nothing can get through the shield of faith.   Helmet – Salvation A helmet is something that if not worn can’t help you. It’s like wearing a seatbelt. The purpose of the helmet is to keep the devil out of your mind. The helmet was given at the time of your salvation. Salvation protects your mind, Psalm 28:7; 27:1. If your mind is clear then you’re able to function correctly. Have you ever had a night that you laid down and couldn’t get your mind to shut off because of worry? Call out to God to help get the helmet on.   Sword – Spirit If you’ve been saved then you’re given the Spirit. The Spirit is the sword. You’re using the Spirit’s sword. This Spirit is the Word of God, the Bible. There is nothing that can stand against the Word of God.   Once armored up the only thing that’s not covered is your back. The enemy is NOT other people, it’s spiritual evils. The armor itself is NOT physical but spiritual. The spiritual armor is to help protect us from the spiritual evils of the devil.
