Putting Storytelling Back Into STEM with Neil Thompson

from The Drop In CEO · host Deborah Coviello

Today on the Drop In CEO podcast, Neil Thompson shares how he realized a need to help STEM professionals improve their public speaking skills through storytelling. Listen in as Deborah and Neil discuss captivating an audience, the desire to relay accurate information over creating a memorable experience, and how STEM professionals can use their insights to create a lasting impact on others. Neil Thompson is an entrepreneur, children's book author, and patent agent. For years, he worked as a product development engineer in the medical device industry. He started the online platform Teach the Geek to help scientists and engineers with non-technical skills that often get overlooked. His first target? Public speaking. After one too many failed presentations in front of senior management, he knew he had to improve. The first offering of the platform, Teach the Geek to Speak, is the online course to help with public speaking. More courses to come.  You can connect with Neil in the following ways: YouTube: youtube.teachthegeek.com Podcast: anchor.fm/teachthegeek Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/teachthegeek Twitter: https://twitter.com/teachthegeek Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/_teachthegeek_/ LinkedIn: LinkedIn.com/in/neilithompson  Website: TEACHTHEGEEK.com   When I began the Drop in CEO Podcast, I knew that the best advice we could ever receive was from people who had been there.
