Putting Yourself First Isn't Selfish, It's Selfful...

from Cat & Nat Unfiltered

Let's just start off by saying that it should be 100% mandatory for all women and moms to listen to this episode... So many of us don't think self-care is selfish, yet we feel guilty when we take time to do something for ourselves because we've been socially constructed to think this way. It was during our conversation with psychologist Dr. Natasha Williams in our exclusive parenting group that we had this huge "aha" moment when we realized we've been taught that women are supposed to sacrifice rather than live a selfful life and that we actually continue to condition ourselves to believe this on a daily basis. This, in turn, teaches our children (including our sons) that women should apologize when they do things for themselves, and it perpetuates into a never-ending, generational cycle that we need to break ASAP for the sake of ourselves and our kids. Take a listen as we beat the sh*t out of this topic, and be inspired to make a change so that you can start living the life that you want to (and deserve to) live.Sign up for our parenting community for more insightful info and advice from Dr. Natasha Williams on how to get out of this cycle by changing your mindset, creating healthy boundaries and practicing self-care: https://bitly.com/6-to-teen-parenting-groupCheck out Natasha's courses and books at drnatashawilliams.com.Grab her e-book Embracing Selfishness - It's Not What You Think and use code CAT&NAT for 50% off!Follow her on Instagram @drnatashawilliams.Tune in for new #MOMTRUTHS episodes every Tuesday, Thursday and Friday!Follow @momtruthspodcast on Instagram: https://instagram.com/momtruthspodcastSign up for our FREE 21-Day Parenting Challenge: https://bit.ly/tween-teen-parenting-challengeMake sure you subscribe to our YouTube channel for our new cooking show: https://bitly.com/catnatyoutubeCheck out our Amazon Lives here: https://bitly.com/catnatamazonliveCheck out our business courses here: https://catandnat.ca/businessFollow Social Common Collective over on Instagram: https://instagram.com/socialcommoncollectiveOrder TAYLIVI here: https://taylivi.comCheck out our #MOMTRUTH videos on YouTube: https://bitly.com/catnatyoutubeGet personalized videos from us on Cameo: https://cameo.com/catandnatCome hang with us over on https://instagram.com/catandnat all day long. And follow us on https://tiktok.com/@catandnatofficial!
