Q&A: Glycogen, muscle imbalances, restaurant meals, increasing maintenance calories, and best ab exercises - Ep. 103
from Fit to Transform Podcast with Coach Nikias · host Nikias Tomasiello
Do muscles have a maximum amount of glycogen stores and is there a “time limit” (prior to exercise) they store them for? Why is one muscle weaker than the other? As in left bicep can do 8 reps RPE 8, but right ends up 8 reps RPE 9.5? Will there ever be a time when they’re equal enough to trust a long bar curl vs dumbbells? Or will one side inevitably begin to overcompensate/engage more than the other? Do you have any tips for reducing the caloric content of a restaurant meal? You said that your maintenance calories can be lower after losing weight. Is there any way to keep them where they were prior to weight loss? Any ab exercises you find particularly effective for yourself and/or clients?
