Q&A: Jesus Abandoned On The Cross?

from The Worldtellers Podcast

Tune in as we do our best to answer your questions about christianity and the bible. 1.)  In Matthew 27:46, Jesus cries out, "My God, my God, why have you forsaken me? How should we understand this moment of apparent abandonment from God while Jesus was on the cross? And if Jesus says that God has forsaken him, how is Jesus considered God? 2.) Who was the "Chosen Lady" who merited a letter from John? Where was she from? What was her role in the ministry? How did she come to faith in Christ? Also, who was her "Chosen sister" and the spirtual children mentioned? 3.) Why would Jesus prophesy that his kingdom would come in glory before some of those listening to him died, but the kingdom still has not come (Mark 9:1, Luke 21:31-32)? Surely the son of God could not have spoken a false prophecy, could he? 4.) Can christians have an effect on how quickly God comes back? 2 Peter 3:12 seems to indicate we can. Next week's first question: Why do many evangelical churches deny that baptism is essential for salvation, when the New Testament clearly teaches that is is?
