Q&A: What do I do if a student tries to "take over" the class?

It most often comes from my friends - people I've known for years in my business - who I think mean well. But sometimes they'll DM me or say something out loud - like remind me of something I didn't do yet or make a suggestion about how I might do something differently. And while I understand they're building off of our friendship outside of class, I struggle to handle it in real time or get ahead of it in the moment.
