QAnon Resurrection: Donald Trump, Victory of the Light & The Return of Q in 2026

QAnon was supposed to be dead. The drops stopped, the predictions failed, and the movement largely disappeared from the form it took during Donald Trump’s first presidency. But in 2026, something strange is happening: Q language is showing up again—this time from official government accounts. In this episode, Joel goes back to Cass Sunstein and Adrian Vermeule’s controversial proposal for the “cognitive infiltration” of conspiracy groups and asks whether QAnon can be understood through the very information cascades they studied. From Q’s origins on 4chan and its failed predictions to earlier LARPs like Victory of the Light, we examine how the mythology was assembled—and why it worked. But the story doesn’t end with the original Q drops. In 2026, something unexpected begins happening inside the highest levels of American government. Old language, familiar imagery, and strangely recognizable signals start resurfacing in places they probably shouldn’t. Coincidence, political trolling, or something much more deliberate? The deeper we go, the stranger the resurrection of Q becomes. Is QAnon actually making a comeback—or has the mythology itself become useful enough that the government is now deliberately resurrecting it?
