《袖手旁观》收录在齐秦1995年发行的专辑《痛并快乐着》中，齐秦用说故事的方式将这首歌曲娓娓道来，那看似如同坐看风云的云淡风轻，每一句温柔的词句却如同一把利剑直插心底最柔软的地方，勾起人们回首过往的无奈，追忆似水年华的唏嘘与感叹。这首经典之作后来也被众多歌手相继翻唱，不仅张宇、李健把它带上了“我是歌手”的舞台，就连张碧晨、江美琪以女生的口吻唱起这首歌也是别有一番滋味在心头。2024年8月又多了一版陈楚生演绎的《袖手旁观》，陈楚生在社交平台上发文说：“你的脸庞，闭上眼睛就在我面前转呀转” 很荣幸再次有机会翻唱小哥齐秦的又一首经典歌曲《袖手旁观》，初次听到的时候就很喜欢，时隔多年，恍然如梦，致敬经典。

The lyrical content is in fact a living reflection of this artists emotional journey that followed leaving love, finding a new love only to lose love once again.
