دیوان عالی یا دادگاه قانون اساسی امریکا در دوره ترامپ چرخش بزرگی به راست و محافظه کاری داشت. در این قسمت به چند تصمیم مهم، جنجالی و سرنوشت‌ساز دیوان عالی امریکا در طی سه سال گذشته پرداخیتم که آینده امریکا و چه بسا آینده دنیا را تغییر خواهد داد. مهمتری حکم دادگاه ملغی کردن سابقه «رو دربرابر وید» بود که شوک بزرگی به فعالین حقوق زنان و برابری‌خواهان وارد کرد. تصمیم نهایی دادگاه این بود که قانون‌گذاری در مورد پایان خودخواسته بارداری را به ایالت‌ها و سیستم قانون‌گذاری آنها محول می‌کند و حمایت قانون اساسی از انتخاب برای پایان بارداری قبل از هفته ۲۳ سوم را ملغی کرد. تصمیم مهم بعدی از بین رفتن سابقه «شوران» است که در موضوعات تخصصی قانون‌گذاری و یا استنباط قوانین مبهم را از متخصصان سازمان‌های دولتی به قوه قضاییه امریکا و قاضی‌هایی که الزاما تخصصی در موضوع ندارند واگذار می‌کند. در دو پرونده مهم درباره متمم دوم قانون اساسی درباره حمل سلاح، دیوان عالی دو تصمیم متناقض گرفت. در پرونده قرص‌های ضد بارداری دیوان عالی از اتخاذ تصمیم قانونی خودداری کرد با این استدالال که شاکیان پرونده از این قانون خسارت ندیده‌اند و شکایتشان پایه قانونی ندارد. منابع: Daily: Special Episode: Roe V.
