Quai Joins RHOSLC With a Rumor Already Attached | RHOSLC Recap

Quai joins RHOSLC with no job security and a rumor already attached } The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City returns Wednesday September 16 with its entire Season 6 cast intact and one new face standing in the middle of it. On this episode of The Good Edit Unfiltered, Elle Schwartz previews Season 7 and makes the case that Quai is auditioning in public, and that the audition is the season itself. Ashley Quai goes by her last name. Bravo's bio says she was born and raised in Utah. She is 44, a former makeup artist who founded and designs The Quai, a unisex hat and accessory brand, and a motorcycle rider who calls herself a biker babe. She married her husband in Las Vegas in September 2024 and has a 23 year old daughter named Zariah. Her doorway into this group is the part most previews skip. Quai was sisters in law with Shari Quai, Whitney Rose's best friend, who died of cancer in April 2023. Elle unpacks what a friend of slot actually means. Bravo has committed to nothing past this season, and next year gets decided using this year's footage, which makes the tryout and the show the same tape. A normal audition happens in a room and ends. Hers runs for months in front of millions of people, on a storyline she did not choose, with three groups scoring her at once. Producers watch whether she can build a scene without an alliance protecting her. The cast watches whether she is safe to stand next to. The audience votes last and votes loudest. The rumor itself is worth reading closely. Bravo's own season copy says a story about her husband becomes material for the group. She handed them the anecdote herself, which is a different setup than a newcomer ambushed with an outside allegation. Lisa Barlow frames her for the audience before we meet her, and Quai swings early with a roast aimed at Angie Katsanevas. Elle maps the rest of the board too. Lisa is chasing music. Meredith Marks is opening a caviar lounge. Heather Gay is in a new relationship. Whitney Rose is reexamining her marriage. Bronwyn Newport is adjusting after her split from Todd Bradley. And Mary Cosby returns after the death of her son, Robert Cosby Jr., which paused filming. Those threads are handled as life events, with care and with no analysis stacked on top. Plus predictions before premiere night, and why Carole Radziwill's RHONY return is the exact inverse of the same structure. Recorded before the September 16 premiere. New episodes weekly.
