Quantrill Makes a Playoff Game 1 Case in Rangers’ 5-0 Win
from Right on Rangers LIVE! Hosted by Austin Beckman
Cal Quantrill threw seven scoreless innings as the Rangers beat Washington 5-0 and moved to 62-64. Justin Foscue homered for the first time since July 9 and added a bases-loaded RBI walk, while Wyatt Langford, Corey Seager, Brandon Nimmo and Cody Freeman helped Texas score in each of the first three innings. Austin gets into whether Quantrill has actually earned a Game 1 playoff argument, why the MacKenzie Gore trade still looks uncomfortable, the Justin Viele/hitting-staff question, Foscue and Freeman’s roles, Josh Jung’s eventual return, and the Rangers’ place in a bizarre American League Wild Card race. **Chapters / Timestamps** (00:00) - Quantrill Throws Seven Scoreless (06:22) - Abimelec Ortiz and the MacKenzie Gore Trade (18:47) - Gore, Merrill Kelly, and Trade Regrets (30:50) - Rangers Finish the 5-0 Shutout (34:04) - Cal Quantrill as a Playoff Game 1 Starter?
