Atlantic-spinoff Quartz is only a few years old, but in a short time they have become a prominent voice in the world of global business reporting and in journalism in general. Part of this is due to their incredibly wide array of perspectives and stories that focus on seemingly mundane aspects of life all around the world. Latino USA producer Michael Simon Johnson sat down with Quartz’ senior editor Mitra Kalita to talk about what their newsroom looks like, and how they approach covering just about everything.
