QueerFM Featured Guests : American queer singer/songwriter Emily McNally/ the della kit singer, songwriter, producer, DJ & voice teacher bas

EMILY MCNALLYBrooklyn based queer singer/songwriter Emily McNally (she/they) is creating the soundtrack for the lovelorn & an anxious generation of young people with their genre-fluid, DIY bedroom pop music. With vulnerable lyricism, Emily confronts their own naivete & yearning in layers of lush vocals, sharing a time capsule of emotions in order to ease the sense of loneliness in others (and herself). Emily has a new track coming out March 23rd, (that’s this week folks) “Lonely” co-written with Producer Girl in the Mirror. Improvising and circle singing is how the della kit connects the community through collaboration.Inspired by artists like: Ella Fitzgerald, Jill Scott & Joni Mitchell, the della kit’s music oozes jazz inspired neo soul with evocative stories of healing and self-love. Born into a lineage of Italian & Jewish Jazz musicians from Boston and New York, then uprooted and raised by hippies amongst the evergreens and mountain beds of British Columbia, Canada. It is through music and nature that the della kit found her sense of belonging. “When I sing, I connect to myself, my ancestors, my spirit and the natural world around me. I light a candle and let the music be the medicine that flows through me, I am simply the vessel” says the multi talented artist. Raw and dynamic the della kit creates to share reflective, playful and tender inspiration. Her career has taken her all over the world, with many releases and features under her alias “Erica Dee”. She has supported artists such as Miguel, Quest Love & Nneka, performing and coaching internationally, while breaking bread and building family along the way.CLARITY is the first single off of their upcoming album ‘moonbeams + frequencies’, you can learn more at Dee’s website www.thedellakit.com
