QUESTION 29: AS WE HAVE MANY RESPONSIBILITIES TO MANAGE AND CARRY IN LIFE, HOW CAN WE FIND STILLNESS AND PEACE FOR MEDITATION?

from Buddhism Meditation: Bringing Up And Clearing Up · host Janna Order Monastery

QUESTION 29: AS WE HAVE MANY RESPONSIBILITIES TO MANAGE AND CARRY IN LIFE, HOW CAN WE FIND STILLNESS AND PEACE FOR MEDITATION?ANSWER: While meditation cultivates inner tranquility, this tranquility is not one of emptiness or detachment - it is one infused with virtue and wisdom. In reality, many individuals, despite carrying significant responsibilities, are still able to focus deeply and attain inner stillness when they meditate. For example, there are those who, while managing personal work and family obligations, still dedicate themselves to supporting fellow practitioners on their spiritual journey. National leaders bear the immense responsibility of governing an entire country, constantly preoccupied with the well-being of their citizens. Their well-reasoned policies provide people with security, enabling them to live, work, and contribute with confidence. Sociologists devote themselves to developing solutions that foster ethical behavior in society. Ethicists work tirelessly to integrate the principles of karmic law into educational institutions and correctional facilities, designing programs that introduce moral teachings into school curricula and advocating for their implementation at various levels of education. It is precisely this strong sense of responsibility that generates immense merit, allowing individuals to achieve greater serenity in meditation. This reflects the fairness of the law of karma, those who live with integrity, selflessness, and a commitment to the well-being of others naturally receive the blessing of deep meditative absorption. The key factor is not the weight of one's responsibilities, but rather the intentions and purposes - Are these concerns self-centered or altruistic? Are they justifiable or misguided? When we take on responsibilities with a genuine desire to serve others, our merit expands, and our meditation practice deepens. However, if our concerns stem from selfish desires, personal ambition, or unethical pursuits, such as scheming to deceive or harm others for personal gain, such thoughts only disturb the mind, deplete merit, and obstruct the path to true meditative stillness, no matter how much one attempts to practice.#Religions, #Buddhism, #Meditation, #Questionandanswers, #Religious, #Buddhist, #Truedharma, #Enlightement, #Buddhatemple, #TheLawofKarma, #BuddhismforBeginners, #Janna #Monastery, #JannaOrderMonastery, #PRACTICE, #GUIDE, #LAYPRACTITIONERS, #DialogueBuddhismReligions
