If the greatest lie is that self-interest is the key to a happy life, then it should come as no surprise that the greatest truth is all about living in love and for the best interests of others. On a deep level, I think we all want this and know we want it. As President Kennedy put it, "We all inhabit the same earth, we all breathe the same air, we all want the best for our children." Whether we live according to self-interest or not, we all have loved ones for whom we want the best, and if we don’t then we want to have loved ones more than anything.
