Question of cryptocurrency staking resurfaces in study committee

The Legislative Council Study Committee on Cryptocurrency met on Tuesday to discuss Wisconsin’s regulation of a practice called staking – where cryptocurrency investors put their money into a pool with a randomized chance of return on investment. Staking is currently classified as a highly regulated security investment. The committee is tasked with studying the issue, and making recommendations on whether that classification should change.
