The title of this message is found in Matthew 16:26, where Jesus actually uses the term “forfeit” his soul. Does He mean sell your soul to the devil? Well, not exactly, but when our lives become all about chasing the things of this world, essentially, we are doing just that. It’s a serious topic because it is so culturally accepted to pursue wealth with an all-consuming ferocity that ends up controlling our whole lives. And what have we really gained, even if we were to gain the whole world? Nothing! Because we become doomed for eternity when we do.
