Avremi and his wife Sheina founded Young Jewish Professionals Utah, which has since grown to become the most prominent community of its kind across the State.  In 2019, Avremi testified publicly about the decade of sexual abuse he endured at the hands of a family caregiver as part of the criminal proceedings against her.
