A pioneer of ideas in chinuch and parenting, he has helped turn Yeshiva Darchei Torah into the internationally recognized institution that it is. Rabbi Bender also helped start the Flatbush Hatzolah, founded a branch of Hatzolah in Far Rockaway and is undoubtedly responsible for much of the community's success and growth over the years.
