Rabies – solvable yet deadly desease.

In the fight against rabies: #WorldRabiesDay. Rabies kills tens of thousands of people every year, mainly children. Almost all infections originate from dogs. India and China are particularly affected, but also Africa. The disease is preventable, but incurable. Anna Haw is a veterinarian at the Vetmeduni Vienna. She is involved in the Global Alliance for Rabies Control and organizes vaccination campaigns in several southern African states. The World Rabies Day is commited on 28th of September, which is the anniversary of the death of Louis Pastreur, who is one of founders of the rabies vaccine. Im Kampf gegen Tollwut: #WorldRabiesDay. Tollwut tötet jährlich zehntausende Menschen, vor allem Kinder. Fast alle Infektionen gehen von Hunden aus. Indien und China sind besonders betroffen, aber auch Afrika. Die Krankheit ist vermeidbar, aber unheilbar. Anna Haw ist Tierärztin an der Vetmeduni Vienna.
