Radical Welcome | Ptr. Gerbert Reyes

Radical Welcome By Ptr. Gerbert Reyes (PE) 📖Luke 19:5–6 "When Jesus reached the spot, he looked up and said to him, “Zacchaeus, come down immediately. I must stay at your house today.” So he came down at once and welcomed him gladly." When Jesus saw Zacchaeus in the tree, He didn’t hesitate. He called him by name and said, “I must stay at your house today.” This wasn’t just a casual visit—it was a public declaration of welcome and acceptance. And it shocked the crowd. Why would Jesus spend time with someone like Zacchaeus? Jesus’ response shows us the heart of God: He welcomes those who seek Him, no matter their background. He doesn’t wait for people to clean up their lives before drawing near. He meets them where they are and invites Himself into their story. As followers of Jesus, we’re called to do the same. Our churches, homes, and hearts should be places of radical welcome. We don’t need to have all the answers or fix people’s problems. We simply need to make space for them to encounter Jesus. 🙏🏻Reflection: How can you create a more welcoming space for someone seeking Jesus this week? 💭Prayer: Jesus, thank You for welcoming me just as I am. Help me to extend that same welcome to others. Teach me to open my heart and home to those who are seeking You, even if their lives are messy or unfamiliar. Amen. Hosted on Acast.
