Radio Cómeme – 150Session 17 by ML
from Radio Cómeme Hosted by Radio Cómeme
“I’m the burning lights in the fridge”: 150 Session joins the 5th season of Radio Cómeme and introduces a show dedicated to the riddim. In the name of love and resistance we connected some highly political but yet not too critical jazz, rocksteady, ska, roots, dub and reggae beyond reggae tunes to accompany the final weeks of summer 2014. For the first time we also pay a tribute to Le Monde Diplomatique and recommend some movies which represent a possible subtext on 150 Session Edition XVII. Their titles are They Harder They Come (Jamaica 1972), Rockers (Jamaica 1978) and Countryman (Jamaica 1982). Enjoy! 1: Earth Sound Part 1 by Ernest Ranglin 2: Super Cool by Junior Soul 3: I Fell In Love by The Conquerors 4: Our Man Flint by Tommy McCook & The Supersonics 5: Love Me Forever by Carlton & His Shoes 6: Zorro by Tommy McCook & The Observers 7: Slipping Into Darkness by Carl Bradney 8: Fisherman by The Congos 9: Lambs Bread Collie by The Light Of Saba 10: Call Of The Drums by Johnny & The Attractions 11: Ethiopian Kingdom by Prince Ronald Downer with Count Ossie & His Band 12: Lumumbo by Bunnie & Skitter 13: Bank To Bank by Lloyd ‘Bullwackie’ Barnes & Lee “Scratch” Perry 14: Don’t Worry Yourself by Sugar Minott featuring Chris Wayne 15: All I Can Say by Love Joy’s & Lloyd ‘Bullwackie’ Barnes 16: Righteous Kingdom (Version) by African Brothers 17: March Down Babylon by Rhythm & Sound meet The Chosen Brothers
