Full Transcript Charlie James: Welcome back to the program. Well, Dr. Fauci! Do you remember—let’s take you back a little bit—right when we started hearing about COVID? Right when we started—I—I'll be honest with you, the first time I—first time it kind of hit home to me that I—well, it didn't yet. Okay, so anyway, my wife and I had this little Chinese restaurant that we used to go to down in Charleston. And I went there one day, and it was like—it was like a Chinese and you could get—you go to order, they had a Chinese chef and they had a Korean chef, okay? And I think they had a Thai chef, uh chef. So, I showed up, I go, I'm going to go get my order, place my order at at this Chinese restaurant, and there was a note on the door that said, "Sorry, but our Chinese chef has had—" something like this. "Sorry, but our Chinese chef has had to return to China because of a family illness." That was the same week that I started hearing about all of this stuff. Back then, it was wet market, you know, Wuhan, somebody ate a bat at a wet market, and and that's all there was. But—but then the media started talking about COVID, because—and to give you some more stuff you might have forgotten—President Trump actually declared a medical emergency in this country and prohibited people from coming in from China. And what did they—what did the liberals do? What did everybody over on the left—"Oh, here he is, he's xenophobic! Oh, he's—he's got a Chinese ban!" Well, most of the people—listen to this—most of the people that come to the United States from China fly in from the West Coast, okay? No direct flights from China to the West Coast. Now, Wuhan, China had a work agreement with the leather district in Italy. Yes, Italy was outsourcing its workers to Chinese workers. So, these Chinese workers would go over to the leather district in Italy, and they would work in the leather shops and the factories making handbags and all of that stuff in Italy. Those people would then go, "Hey, I'm going to go on vacation, I'm going to go to the United States," so they flew from—flew from Italy into New York and all along the East Coast. They were not forbidden from coming, because those flights were not originating in China, although they had Chinese people on it. All of a sudden, what happens? We start getting all of these cases on the East Coast about COVID. What did the media say? Let's go back and remember. Media Clip: People are like, you know, "I think I have the flu, could it be the coronavirus?" Overall, most people should not be terribly concerned about it. You definitely want to pay attention. Should they panic? No. Americans do not need to panic. What I would suggest, however, is that Americans take this as a wake-up call for seasonal flu. Flu is a much bigger deal. There's an important context we need to keep this in, and that is that the flu is more deadly. Maybe this is a good opportunity to remind people of that. Such a good reminder!
