Radio ITVT: The Future of the TV Viewing Experience at TVOT NYC 2017

from Televisionation · host Tracy Swedlow

[itvt] is pleased to present an audio recording of the TVOT NYC 2017 session, "Designer-Technologist Dialog on the Future of the TV Viewing Experience." The session was described in the show brochure as follows:"This session will bring together technology innovators and prominent TV/video UI/UX experts, in order to identify new technologies--including personalization, voice-activated AI, OTA-OTT integration, and more--that could have a major impact on the future of the viewing experience; and to attempt to visualize how fundamentally those technologies might change our relationship with the screen. Among other things, panelists will debate how designers can visualize the new viewing experiences that these technologies make possible in a way that truly takes into account their potential, rather than relying on old UI/UX paradigms; and discuss how imaginative and innovative design might accelerate--and lackluster design retard--the uptake of these new technologies." Panelists included:Simon Applebaum, Host, "Tomorrow Will Be Televised"Fabian Birgfeld, CEO, W12 Studios (Moderator)Richard Dowling, VP of Product Services, ThinkAnalyticsGrant Hall, CEO, NuvyyoScott Henson, Director of Product Management, Fire TV, AmazonYiannis Pagkalos, Business Development Principal, GoogleDewey Reid, VP/Executive Creative Director, CNN (Note: We will shortly be announcing our next TV of Tomorrow Show event, TVOT SF 2018.)
