Radio Owlsnest Episode 41 - On Air with Martin Page

Well, we are getting up there aren’t we, my fellow OwlHeads - episode bloody 41! And I thought I was only going to record one solitary show😳… but the lure of the groupies, sex and rock n’ roll, the extravagant multi million dollar subscriptions - the glory and the glamour; Aah, I’m persuaded to endeavor to soldier on - someone’s gotta do it. I must admit, I’m very satisfied with this month’s episode, which includes some deliciously rare hidden demos from my ancient song vaults. I’ll drop a Motown-influenced jam on you from the 90s.. then an unheard soul/gospel number written with lyricist Bernie Taupin for Aretha Franklin, sung exquisitely, I might add, by “Go West’s” phenomenal voice - the majestic and unmistakeable Peter Cox; and I’ll dust off an analog 4 track demo from the early 80s created for my first band - the new wave ultra electric “Q.Feel”. In this show, I enjoy immensely playing a newly re-mastered version of a killer track I wrote with Wang Chung’s Jack Hues, extolling the dilemmas of the internet digital age. And I’ll debut two brand new songs from forthcoming solo albums. One, believe it or not, about astronauts orbiting in space drunk on Christmas day; the other, a loving lament and tribute to my dear father. Interspersed within these sonic anomalies, I’ll talk about a personal spiritual way of life that has helped me navigate life’s travails. I do hope this section of the show speaks to and resonates with you.
