She also plays piano professionally and teaches music with a focus on students with intellectual disabilities. Her marriage to Jan Mabie was part of a rally on the day of that SCOTUS overturned DOMA - June 26, 2013. Since then, Jan and Beth have continued fighting for LGBTQ+ equality issues. Jan and Beth live in Norwalk and they have a teenage son, 2 big dogs, and 4 horses.
