Some people argue that a woman has a right to choose. It is true that a woman may choose to abstain from sexual relations, but once she makes the choice to engage in sexual relations, she is not free from the consequences of her choice. Life begins when two cells unite to form a single cell. A new DNA complex is formed. A heart begins to beat 22 days after the cells combine. Blood begins to circulate after 26 days. It was put in place to make sure soldiers wouldn't be deployed against their own countrymen. But this directive effectively nullifies that safeguard. Sure, the military will tell you they’re only stepping in when absolutely necessary, but what constitutes “necessary” is entirely subjective—and therein lies the danger.
