Radio Stuff: Episode 64

from Radio Stuff Podcast · host Radio Stuff

This week Larry Gifford (@giffordtweet) features Howard Stern. Stern called into radio station WCCC in Hartford, CT on the final day of broadcasting before flipping from rock to christian music. WCCC was Stern's first real radio home back in 1979. He gets nostalgic and contemplative about the radio industry. Good stuff. The annual Morning Show Boot Camp is off and running in Chicago, we check in with Ryan Hoppe who is wowed just a couple hours into the program. Lots of buzz around Pandora "inevitably" entering the spoken word game of "radio." A story so hot -- Radio Stuff reported it back in March. Pandora also brokered a deal directly with artists for the first time. Expect more. We hear from Pandora founder Tim Westergren. iHeartRadio celebrates it's 50 millionth registered user. CKNW-AM in Vancouver says so long to two long-time hosts, Jason Lewis quits his syndicated show (over taxes?), and Elvis Duran turns 50.
