The school hosted its annual mock crash demonstration yesterday, simulating a fatal two-vehicle wreck. Principal Manny Barbazzeni says the staged event—complete with emergency responders and a mock arrest—is designed to show students the real-world consequences of driving under the influence before they head to prom.In Brookville, a historic local institution finally has a permanent roof over its head. Over the weekend, the Rogers-Daugherty American Legion Post 102 dedicated its new home and opened the fledgling Jefferson County Military Museum. The move ends a twenty-five-year stretch without a permanent facility for the one-hundred-and-seven-year-old veterans organization.And a beloved DuBois bakery is entering a new chapter. After five years of serving homemade pastries, Queen of Tarts owner Lauren Johnson is stepping away.
