Following a weekend of record-breaking travel across the state, transportation officials are warning Interstate Eighty commuters to brace for residual gridlock today as millions of Pennsylvanians return from the long weekend. Local drivers are also absorbing a heavy hit at the pump this morning, with regular unleaded averaging four dollars and sixty cents a gallon statewide —marking a four-year holiday high.Meanwhile, the high-stakes search for the next DuBois City Manager has narrowed down to the final stretch. Following a marathon council session, officials announced they have completed final interviews with the top three finalists: Scott Andrejchak, Joe Fleming, and former manager Shawn Arbaugh. Council expects to make its official hiring vote at the June third meeting. In other action, council members unanimously approved a targeted herbicide plan to clear invasive plants across two hundred ten acres of city property just south of the Interstate Eighty bridges.And finally, Tri-County residents paused yesterday to honor the fallen.
