Current owner Cheryl Gentz is retiring, noting that the shop's final day for flower sales will be May twenty-second, followed by a two-week public liquidation sale starting May twenty-sixth.Meanwhile, millions of dollars in state funding are headed to the Village of Bath. Governor Kathy Hochul announced four-point-five million dollars for eleven local economic development projects through the NY Forward program. The funds will back upgrades to Pulteney Park, pedestrian improvements along Liberty Street, a new small business project fund, and the creation of a downtown restaurant and taproom.And the region is bracing for an early summer scorcher today. A major heat wave moving through New York is pushing local temperatures up to eighty-seven degrees in Corning with high humidity, making it the hottest day of the year so far.
