Good morning,A Horseheads man is behind bars following a tragic weekend hit-and-run crash that claimed the life of a pedestrian. Thirty-four-year-old Louis R. Johnson is being held in the Chemung County Jail on a felony charge of leaving the scene of a fatal accident. Horseheads police say the collision happened late Sunday night near Grand Central Avenue and John Street.Meanwhile, Southern Tier drivers can expect major delays starting today as work resumes on the Interstate Eighty-Six corridor. The Town of Owego announced that crews are shutting down the westbound off-ramp at Exit Sixty-Five to kick off the next phase of a forty-seven-million-dollar modernization project. Westbound ramp work is expected to wrap up by September.And the world's largest operating steam locomotive is officially chugging its way toward the Southern Tier. Union Pacific's historic "Big Boy" train has departed Wyoming on a rare East Coast tour celebrating the nation's two-hundred-and-fiftieth birthday.
