Good morning.A massive two-point-eight-million-dollar transformation is coming to the Steuben County waterfront. Town officials announce that a total overhaul of the aging Champlin Beach Pier on Keuka Lake is scheduled to break ground immediately following the July Fourth holiday. The existing dock system will be completely torn down to make way for a fully ADA-compliant system, featuring a brand-new public gazebo and dedicated docking space for local tour boats. The project represents the next major phase of Hammondsport's master waterfront redevelopment plan.Meanwhile, new details released out of Albany reveal New York State's spending has ballooned significantly. The state's official budget division has released its final financial plan, showing the total state budget has grown by a massive nine billion dollars more than Governor Kathy Hochul originally projected. Budget officials state the unexpected multibillion-dollar jump is almost entirely due to a late wave of federal funding earmarked for state health coverage programs. And a unique, high-flying fundraiser is coming to Elmira's Eldridge Park to cap off a weekend of local fire safety demonstrations. Organizers have unveiled the inaugural "Duck Drop" festival, where a one-hundred-foot ladder fire truck will hoist one-thousand numbered rubber ducks into the air and drop them over a bullseye target on the ground. The owner of the duck landing closest to the center will take home a one-thousand-dollar cash prize, with all ticket sales supporting community park programs. For more news, download the radioNOVO app. I’m Codi Gaboff, radioNOVO News, a service of Seven Mountains Media.
