Good morning.An Elmira man is facing a felony attempted murder charge following a violent stabbing on the city’s Northside. Police responded to Walnut Street Tuesday afternoon, where they found a victim suffering from multiple stab wounds. State Police and Chemung County Sheriff's deputies later located and arrested forty-five-year-old Lontell Maurice Davis. The victim remains in critical condition at a local hospital.In regional school news, a controversial program to bring a humanoid A-I robot into the classroom has been put on hold. The Salamanca City School District paused its pilot program with tech company Realbotix following intense pushback from parents and state union leaders over privacy and ethics concerns. The New York State Department of Education is now stepping in to monitor data privacy compliance before any high-tech teaching assistants enter classrooms.And August eighth has officially been declared "Jim Hare Day" in the City of Elmira.
