Good morning.An Ithaca man has been sentenced to up to seven years in state prison following a high-speed, drug-and-alcohol-fueled crash that killed a seventeen-year-old passenger. A Schuyler County Court judge handed down the maximum sentence to nineteen-year-old Michael Blake Junior, who admitted to driving over ninety miles per hour while impaired before smashing into a tree in the Town of Hector last September.Meanwhile, a massive fourteen-and-a-half-million-dollar environmental cleanup is set to begin this month at Denison Park in Corning. The Department of Environmental Conservation will oversee a multi-phase excavation to remove soil contaminated with historical glass manufacturing waste, replacing topsoil across the thirty-three-acre site over the next year.And history enthusiasts are offering a one-thousand-dollar reward after a unique Civil War artifact was stolen in Elmira.
