County health representatives are conducting contact tracing to reach anyone directly exposed, while reminding the public that measles is extremely contagious and can remain airborne for up to two hours. Health officials advise calling ahead before visiting any medical facility if you suspect exposure.Over in Steuben County, a new lighted, half-mile walking and biking trail has officially opened at The Y at Watson Woods in Painted Post. The nearly forty-thousand-dollar project, made possible through grants from Explore Steuben and the Community Foundation, features fifty newly planted maple trees and aims to boost guest safety by keeping pedestrians off nearby Dry Run Road.And a popular local reading initiative is going outdoors in Chemung County.
