A judge ordered the sentence for fifty-year-old Kelly Renee Gonzales, who was convicted of neglect after a twenty-two-year-old resident went eleven days without his anti-seizure medication and suffered a fatal medical episode.In health news, Lawrence County has been chosen to pilot a new state program tackling senior substance abuse. The WISE initiative kicks off next month to educate older adults on medication safety, as officials warn that senior overdose deaths are rising statewide.And the Pennsylvania Supreme Court has denied the appeal of former New Castle police officer David Maiella.
