Good morning.In Lawrence County, the City of New Castle is moving forward with long-awaited plans to redevelop the iconic former Shenango China property. City Council will vote Thursday on whether to advertise for bids on the thirty-four-acre site, which the city officially acquired following decades of legal and environmental hurdles. Mayor Mark Elisco indicates a potential buyer is already in mind to return the industrial site to productive use.Over in Mahoning County, jury selection is underway for the third time in a 2023 Youngstown murder case following two previous mistrials caused by improper witness testimony. Twenty-one-year-old Darnell Jones faces charges of aggravated murder and burglary for the fatal shooting of Ty’Lend Lewis.And in Butler County, state police have charged a Valencia man following a pursuit and suspected drunk driving incident.
