Scammers are telling victims they missed federal jury duty and demanding up to thirty-five hundred dollars in payments to avoid arrest. Authorities emphasize that the Sheriff's Office will never ask for money over the phone, and anyone receiving these high-pressure calls should hang up immediately.In economic news, local unemployment numbers took a positive turn in June. State data shows Crawford County’s jobless rate dropped to three-point-seven percent, down from four-point-three percent in May. Surrounding areas saw similar gains, with Mercer, Warren, and Venango counties all reporting significant decreases in unemployment.And long-time local business owners Harry and Natalie Hanks have been named the Cambridge Springs Citizens of the Year.
