Good morning,A California congressman visited the Vitro Glass plant in Meadville last week, praising the facility while calling for stronger action against Chinese competitors. Congressman Ro Khanna toured the plant and said companies tied to China shouldn’t be allowed to undercut American jobs and wages. Vitro officials say unfair competition has put pressure on their Meadville operations, which employ around 400 workers locally.Meanwhile, a statewide nonprofit is expanding support services for new moms across Pennsylvania. Pittsburgh-based NurturePA is now offering free text-based mentoring for expectant mothers and parents with children up to age five.
